Hi,
I wanne buy larger CD-R to make backups of larger Games.
Verbatim, Sony, TDK and all the great Companies don't have 99 Min CD-R.
I often seen 99 Min from MediaRange. Will this CD-R works in a Dremcast and have they good Quality???
Or are another Marks of CD-R better??? |

First of all, make sure your drive can burn 99 min CDRs.
Many brands are not able to burn this long (even when using 99 min discs). For example, I know for sure that Pioneer and NEC drives aren't able to do it (they stop at 92-93 min).
There's a reason the big companies aren't making 99 min CDR, they are completely out of spec. Can't really comment on the quality of the available brands, since my drives aren't able to burn them. |

Hi,
I have 2 Writers, they can both write to 870 MB / 99 Min.
I had now test it, with 99 Min CD-R.
Burning is okay. But my Dreamcast, can't handle the CD-R.
I don't know, if it is the Quality of the CD-R. All the good Companys don`t make 99 Min CD-R.
I will test now if it will work good on 800 MB CD-R. I think that is a good compromise. Some Quality Brands like Verbatim etc. make 800 MB CD-R.
But I have great Problems with 99 Min. Something jumps in my Dreamcast like hell and he can't handle the CD-R. The Dreamcast try it all the time, without success. |
